The Artemis Fund believes technology can create prosperity for all. With offices in New York, Texas, Massachusetts, and Nevada, Artemis leads seed rounds for companies creating resilient families, individuals, and businesses across the US.
A Navy ship is docked for emergency repairs. The mission-critical valve it needs was designed twenty years ago by a contractor that no longer exists, and the replacement must meet strict material and security specs. The blueprint lives on a single, outdated CAD file, and the only supplier able to produce it is across the globe. Weeks of delay, compliance risk, and escalating costs follow, all because there’s no secure, trusted way to produce the part where it’s needed.

The global digital and on-demand manufacturing markets are valued at approximately $3–15T, growing at an annual rate of 4–6%.

That's why we’re thrilled to announce The Artemis Fund’s investment in Dimax, a digital industrial SaaS platform enabling secure, automated, and trusted on-demand manufacturing at or near the point of need.

Dimax doesn’t just match jobs to suppliers. It executes the entire process, from encrypted IP transfer to blockchain-certified proof of authenticity, across CNC (Computer Numerical Control) manufacturing, additive, and formulated manufacturing methods. Dimax allows Creators (who design), Buyers (who need parts), and Producers (who manufacture) to communicate and operate seamlessly.
The founding team brings deep domain and leadership expertise: Teri Hamlin (CEO), a former U.S. Air Force fighter pilot and growth leader in manufacturing and aerospace; Alastair Orchard (CTO), a Siemens digital enterprise strategist and blockchain traceability architect; and Joseph Bonnin (CFO), an enterprise finance, pricing, and platform revenue expert.

The Opportunity

  • U.S. manufacturing contributes $2.65T to GDP, employing nearly 13M Americans across 290K factories, 90% of which have fewer than 99 employees.
  • JPMorgan recently announced a $1.5T, 10-year Security and Resiliency Initiative, with $10B dedicated to direct equity and venture investments in companies advancing strategic manufacturing.
  • In 2024, manufacturing startups attracted nearly $9.4B in funding.
  • U.S. companies announced 244K reshored or FDI-driven manufacturing jobs in 2024 alone, with nearly 90% in high-tech sectors.

The Solution

Dimax is building a distributed, verified, and intelligent production network that brings trust and automation to every stage of manufacturing. The platform:
  • Maps and digitizes producer networks by onboarding internal and external sites, capturing detailed capability and capacity data to match demand precisely to production resources.
  • Converts product designs into secure, executable digital twins, even for legacy parts that lack digital documentation.
  • Encrypts and authenticates intellectual property through blockchain and industrial NFTs, ensuring traceability and proof of origin.
  • Deploys a collaborative edge device that decrypts jobs on the factory floor, automates QA, and integrates with MES, ERP, and PLM systems.
  • Generates “Proof Bundles” that tie digital and physical evidence (blockchain records, NFTs, and physical unclonable functions) into a verifiable chain of custody.
  • Optimizes production for cost, carbon, or time through real-time matching across multiple manufacturing methods, from CNC to additive to formulated.

The Impact

Dimax enables secure, on-demand reshoring by moving production closer to the point of need, creating new revenue opportunities for small and midsize producers, strengthening U.S. supply chain resilience, and reducing carbon-intensive transport. By digitizing and decentralizing manufacturing, Dimax empowers local producers to compete on equal footing, supports U.S. job growth, and reinforces a more secure, sustainable, and self-sufficient industrial base.
